Generally there are two types of accommodation in Siegen:

Dormitories

In general we advise to apply for housing via Studierendenwerk Siegen as early as possible.

They offer accommodation at a cheap all-inclusive rent in single rooms or shared flats close to the university and with good traffic connections, as well as Handicap accessible and Family-friendly accomodation, in different dorms:

- Glückaufstraße (GA) & Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) offer furnished rooms in shared flats, close to Main Adolf-Reichwein-Campus, Hölderlin-Campus and Paul-Bonatz-Campus
- Engsbachstraße & Tiergarten offer furnished single rooms on a floor or as a Doublette, in quiet locations with good traffic connections to the city centre
- Hubertusweg offers both furnished single rooms and rooms in shared flats, close to Emmy-Noether-Campus and the city center

Most dorms also feature a Party room and a Barbecue Hut, where you can get in touch with your fellow students!

Flats and flatshare

If you want to organise a flat or flat sharing on your own, you should do that early enough before you arrive in Siegen. Local students usually search for flats and rooms on www.wg-gesucht.de (in German).
Normally you have to pay three monthly rent as a deposit for a private flat rental, but you will get it back after leaving your flat again without damages.
If you signed up for the Krönchen Exchange program: Please note that your Buddy can help you find a flat by giving you tips, but he or she is not obligated to organise a flat for you! You should do that on your own in advance.
